Essential Vision comes with a number of pre-installed fully annotated models, including a complete atlas of human anatomy and a detailed animated model of a human heart. We are working on adding new models and a model library where users can download relevant models on demand.
You can also add your own models to the App by importing VTK files or Unity 3D models. A companion App for the model creation process is currently under development.
Animation
Essential Vision supports fully animated models based on blend shapes. Users can adapt the animation speed and have full control over the animation playback.
Animated models can be created from a series of VTK files (one for each animation frame) or already animated Unity models.
Interaction
Users can interact with and move individual layers of any model. Features like a clipping plane and layer transparency aid in model exploration.
For models obtained from MRI scans, the corresponding scans can be loaded and viewed in the App itself and users can view a cross-section of the scan via a controllable clipping plane.
Simulations
Essential Vision allows you to import and view simulation data. Currently, we support three different simulation types
Connect multiple devices to view and interact with models at the same time. As a teacher you can choose models to display, all the while your students experience them.
Use live quizzes in the shared experience to engage students in real-time. Ask questions, receive instant responses, and quickly assess class understanding for a more interactive learning environment.
Anyone can start a shared session and invite others to join. Both, local and remote sessions are supported. For local sessions, devices in the same network are connected by scanning a QR code. For remote sessions, simply search for and join any existing session.
Users can follow guided courses to explore models at their own pace. Interactive quizzes assess students' comprehension and engage them in a personalized learning experience.
Essential Vision comes with a set of installed courses but you can create your own courses and quizzes for any model.
Interactive Questions
Essential Vision supports a variety of interactive question types that require students to actively engage with the anatomical model.
